Full Stack Web Developer.
Hi, my name is Sorrell. I am a self taught Full Stack Developer.
My main programming languages learnt are HTML, CSS and Javascript for front end, and PHP and SQL for backend services. I have also learnt Javascript libraries such as JQuery, React, Redux and frameworks such as Express. I learnt these languages using online resources such as Udemy and Codecademy, and as such have achieved certificates in these fields.
I currently work full-time as a registered nurse, this has been my profession for over 12 years. I have learnt an insumountable amount of knowledge and skills. A core skill learnt is communication, without this skill I would not have been able to do my job effectively. This includes communication with patients, relatives, members of my team, and other multi-disciplinaries.
Starting a new profession and learning these new skills has been such an exciting and enjoyable experience. I have loved the challenges I have been faced with, it has made me change my way of thinking and approach of a problem. Being able to create something from nothing is a very satisfying experience, especially when I have been struggling to solve a problem, and am then able to achieve a solution.

Company Directory
This full stack project using Javascript, JQuery, PHP and SQL. It is a CRUD mobile first application where you can interact with a company directory, including employees, departments and locations. This was my first project using PHP to interact with my database.

Gazzetteer
This project is a more modern take on a Gazzetteer, made for mobiles and desktops. It is achieved using Javascript, JQuery and PHP. The Leaflet library was my main source to implement layers over the map and then Bootstrap library for interaction with the app.

Calculator
This project was more challenging than I had first anticipated. It is purely HTML, CSS and vanilla Javascript. I found you could make this project as simple or complex as you choose. This was a project that really made me think about logical and conditional operations.

This project is used using React and styled using Bootstrap. It demonstrates my ability to manipulate state and the use of React hooks, while also showing how to style projects using libraries such as Bootstrap.
